Then, we provide specific instruction in the use of our website to ensure your online visit is safe and effective. And, we make certain your treating physician is licensed by your state's board of medicine.

Our Company

Our website, www.DormDerm.com is managed by Remote Derm, LLC, a Delaware corporation that provides operational and administrative services to teledermatologists. Remote Derm, LLC is not licensed to practice medicine and does not do so. Remote Derm customers are professional corporations owned and run by licensed physicians.

Our Board of Medical Advisors

Dr. Joseph Kvedar.

Dr. Kvedar is internationally recognized for his leadership and vision in the field of connected health and the application of communications technologies to improve healthcare to patients. He is the Founder and Director of the Center for Connected Health. Dr. Kvedar is co-editor of the book, Home Telehealth: Connecting Care within the Community, the first book to report on the applications of technology to deliver quality healthcare in the home.

In 2009, Dr. Kvedar was honored by the American Telemedicine Association, of which he is a past President, with its Individual Leadership Award. Dr. Kvedar is also a past Chair of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Task Force on Telemedicine. Dr. Kvedar is a board-certified dermatologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Alan Shalita.

A pioneer in the treatment of acne, Dr. Shalita is recognized nationally and internationally in the field of dermatology. Dr. Shalita is Distinguished Teaching Professor and Chairman, Department of Dermatology, at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is Chief of Dermatology at both State University Hospital and Kings County Hospital Center, and is a Consultant in Dermatology Services at Brooklyn VA Hospital.

Dr. Shalita has served as president of the American Dermatological Association and of the Association of Professors of Dermatology. He was vice-president of the American Academy of Dermatology in 1995 and chaired their Council on Scientific Assembly and Council on Communications. He served as Deputy Secretary General of the World Congress of Dermatology for 4 years and currently holds membership in the Society for Investigative Dermatology, American Medical Association, and many other professional societies.

Dr. Dan Siegel.

Dr. Siegel is a clinician, academician and computer expert who treats patents with skin cancer; teaches dermatologic surgery and computer utilization. He is Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the State University of New York at Downstate and director of the Procedural Dermatology – Mohs Surgery fellowship program. Dr. Siegel represents the specialty of Dermatology on the AMA Resource Based Relative Value Update Committee, where he recently chaired the standing Research Committee. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the Women's Dermatologic Society and DebRA International where he is past Secretary.

Dr. Siegel is an editor of the textbook "Surgery of the Skin: Procedural Dermatology" which "Highly Commended" by The Society of Authors and The Royal Society of Medicine Book Awards in 2005. He is the Cyberdermatology Consultant to the JAAD, an Assistant Editor to Dermatologic Surgery journal and consulting editor of Ostomy/Wound Management.

Dr. Joel Spitz.

Dr. Spitz is a board-certified dermatologist in private practice specializing in acne and is an Associate Professor in Clinical Dermatology at Columbia University. Dr. Spitz's textbook Genodermatoses is known internationally and is used as the foundation for training all dermatologists across the United States and throughout the world. After graduating from Princeton University, Dr. Spitz completed his medical training at Columbia University. He continued at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center as a dermatology resident.

Dr. Itay Klaz.

Dr. Klaz is a recognized innovator in telemedicine, having served as the head of the Medical Quality and Telemedicine Services Office of the Israeli Defense Forces. He developed the first Telemedicine IDF Units throughout the Israeli army and navy, beginning in 2002 and is on the board of advisers of the International Society for Teledermatology and the International Society for dermoscopy. A graduate of Lester B. Pearson United World College, Victoria, BC, Canada, Dr. Klaz completed his medical degree at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, and his Dermatology training at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He is currently Assistant Medical Director of Information Services and continues his research in Dermatology at Weill-Cornell Medical College in New York and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
